Michigan Is Getting Its First Gluten-Free Brewery
If you’re on a gluten-free diet, good news: Michigan’s first gluten-free brewery is on the way.
Brewery Nyx will open this summer in Grand Rapids, according to MLive, and the brewery will be the first fully gluten-free brewery in Michigan.
Brewery Nyx hopes to create beers that are just as flavorful and tasty as regular brews, just without the gluten.
“What we’re looking to do here is to create beers that are on par,” Jessica Stricklen told MLive, who is opening the establishment with Sebastian Van Bommel. We’re trying to compete on quality, and offer something to people who used to go to Founders, or Vivant, or wherever, and now just can’t.”
She added, “And for people who have never been able to, but have always come to Beer City, and were like, ‘Oh cool. I’ll just have a cider.’ Our goal is to provide that beer, and provide that level, that quality of beer.”
