You Can Buy a Piece of the Mackinac Bridge

Twelve sections of the original steel grating from the Mackinac Bridge deck are being auctioned off.
Each steel section is being auctioned off separately. Bids on each 30-inch by 60-inch piece began at $100, but at the time this article is publishing, bids are all above $400.
The sections run about five inches deep and weigh a whopping 200 pounds. That’s a lot of steel!
Expect “corrosion and section loss appropriate to steel that is 60 years old,” according to the auction description.
