National Cherry Festival Bringing Back Races for 2021

The National Cherry Festival is gearing up for a big season, as organizers announced Monday (May 17) that a number of races – including the Meijer Festival of Races, Mile Night and the virtual Michigan Harvest Challenge – will return in 2021.
The 2021 National Cherry Festival is set for July 3 through 10 in Traverse City.
Below are some of the confirmed events.
- Meijer Festival of Races will run with both in-person and virtual options. For information and to register, go here.
- The Michigan Harvest Challenge is a go for 2021, with a run that honors harvests in July, August and September. To register, go here.
- The Cherry Mile will July 8. More details are pending.
- The Cherry Kids Fun Run is back, and registration opens June 1. The event will take place at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center, and those who have registered can stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to do the one-mile race.
