GNR Drummer Matt Sorum Becomes a Dad at 60
Former Guns and Roses drummer, Matt Sorum is one of my favorite drummers. He can hold his own with the best of the best. He’s played drums not just for GNR, but also Velvet Revolver and The Cult. He’s played drums on 14 albums plus two solo albums. One role he hasn’t previously filled, the role of a father.
Matt Sorum is 60. He and his wife recently announced the birth of the first child, Lou Ellington Sorum on Instagram saying, “Our Hearts are so full of gratitude that God has brought this angel into our lives. Our baby girl Lou Ellington is pure Love & Joy”
I’m super happy for the Sorums… a baby is a life changing event 100%. I love babies! The idea of becoming a new parent at 60 though? No thanks. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have waited as long as I did to have my son, Jake, if I knew then what I know now (I wouldn’t change him for the world, just saying, being the young parent is preferable in my opinion). To live 60 years NOT being responsible for a baby and then at 60, being responsible for a baby…. good grief that’s a hard left. Enjoy the sleep deprevitation and baby talk… oh and the baby gear you’ll have to learn to use, but sure. This will be great. Congratulations!
