Get to Know New Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell
With the NFL season approaching, it’s an appropriate time to learn more about new Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his history with the league!
Campbell was a star player from the beginning. He’s a Clifton, Texas, native and, of course, played football in high school at Glen Rose High School.
Upon graduation from high school, Campbell took a football scholarship from Texas A&M University. Eventually, he served as a tight end along with Derrick Spiller.
As a professional player, Campbell has played for four NFL teams: New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
Campbell started his coaching career in 2010 at the Miami Dolphins, beginning as a coaching intern. He served as interim head coach for the latter part of the 2015 season.
Next, in 2016, Campbell went to the New Orleans Saints and served as their assistant head coach and tight ends coach.
Finally, the Lions brought him to Detroit in January 2021. Campbell’s already sporting the “Detroit vs. Everybody” gear, which you have to appreciate, as seen in the photo below!
