Have Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions Patched Things Up? Maybe, and Here’s Why
Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions haven’t enjoyed a fuzzy-warm history together, but the tide may be changing, as the Hall of Famer will be back at Ford Field for a special ceremony this fall.
Johnson will receive his Hall of Fame ring during the Detroit Lions’ Sept. 26 game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Johnson and the Lions have been at odds ever since the Detroit team asked him to repay $1.6 million of his signing bonus when he retired.
After getting inducted into the Hall of Fame in August, Johnson reportedly met privately with new Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp at a part Hamp hosted to celebrate Johnson victory. Have the Lions and Johnson patched things up? Time will tell.
