NBC Shows Wrong Woman as Matthew Stafford’s Wife in ‘Sunday Night Football’ Blunder

NBC was geeked to show off new L.A. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford on Sunday night football (Sept. 12), but they made a big mistake.
During Stafford’s debut game with the Rams, NBC showed a split screen of Stafford and his wife watching the game.
The problem was the woman on the screen wasn’t Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford. Oops.

NBC corrected themselves later in the game, with broadcaster Al Michaels stating that Kelly was wearing a yellow shirt with the No. 9 on it.

The L.A. Rams beat the Chicago Bears with a 34-14 final score.
