Michigan Has One of the Top Public Universities in the U.S., Study Says
Ann Arbor, Michigan, was recently named the No. 1 most educated city in the U.S., so it should be no surprise that the town also has one of the best public universities.
The folks at U.S. News & World Report have complied their annual list of the top public schools in the country, and the University of Michigan is No. 3 on the list.
U-M is just behind the University of California, Los Angeles, and University of California, Berkeley.
Another Michigan school, Michigan State University, also has bragging rights, as the Spartans are No. 33 on the tally, tied with a handful of other schools at the same spot.
Here are the best national public universities, out of 209 schools, according to the report:

3. University of Michigan
4. University of Virginia
5. University of California, Santa Barbara; University of Florida; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (tied)
