Elton John is releasing his new album The Lockdown Sessions tomorrow (October 22), and he's sharing all of the stories behind each track via his official website.
At TheLockdownSessions.EltonJohn.com, fans can click through the album's tracklisting to find a description about the song penned by Sir Elton.
For "E-Ticket," which features Eddie Vedder, John wrote, "Eddie Vedder is one of the nicest people I know and we got to know each other from times I've spent performing in Hawaii, where he has a place. I love his music and Pearl Jam are brilliant, and he's a big fan, so when he left me a note in my dressing room one day saying how much he'd like it if I wrote some music to his lyrics, I jumped at the opportunity. I actually wrote two! I wrote one for him and one for me and it was such a lovely thing to do for such a good person."
For "Stolen Car," which features Stevie Nicks, Sir Elton wrote, "When I say bucket list artists I want to work with, Stevie Nicks is right up there. She is completely her own person with her own sense of style and just the most amazing vocalist and it was a dream come true when she agreed to be on the track. I love this song and how it turned out. Stevie and I sound like an old married couple having an argument and I think it sounds brilliant."
Other artists featured on the album include Stevie Wonder, Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Brandi Carlile, Charlie Puth, Gorillaz and more.
The Lockdown Sessions is available for pre-order now in a variety of formats and bundles at EltonJohn.com.
