Big Jim’s Garage

A NYC e-scooter driver freaked out drivers during rush hour after he was spotted allegedly zipping along the highway at 50 mph to 60 mph.

In addition to being dangerous, the joyride was also highly illegal, according to New York City traffic laws, which stipulate that e-scooters may go no faster than 30 mph in the street. Surprisingly, however, these flimsy-seeming vehicles are allowed on New York State highways, per a law passed in August 2020. The e-scooter rider was not identified in the viral video.
