Michigan Has the No. 1 Safest Small Town in America

There's something simply comforting about a small town. Whenever traveling through Michigan, I see a ton of charming small towns that, at times, I've had the pleasure of visiting, which is always a treat. Small towns always feel safe, too.

The crew at SafeWise.com has put together a list of the Safest Small Towns in America, and several Michigan towns are on the list. In fact, Michigan has one of the highest numbers of safe small towns in the country, according to the report.

What's even better is that the No. 1 Safest Small Town in the U.S. is in Michigan: Thetford Township. The town is tied for No. 1 with a handful of other small towns around the country. Other Michigan small towns on the list include Spring Arbor Township, Lapeer Township, Grosse Ile Township, Huntington Woods, Springfield Township and Raisin Township.
