430,000 Americans to Receive Additional Tax Refund – Here’s Who Qualifies
The IRS has announced they will send out a new round of tax refunds to Americans who overpaid on their taxes earlier this year. Roughly 430,000 taxpayers are expected to get a check for $1,189 in the mail.
The payments will go to a selection of Americans who received unemployment benefits last year, as the American Rescue Plan passed in March of 2021 designates that Americans did not have to pay taxes on the first $10,200 in unemployment payments received in 2020.
The savings was for individuals and married couples with a “modified gross income” of less than $150,000.
The IRS also expects to send out more refunds by the end of the year. For more information, go here.
