Stolen Street Sweeper
Anyone can steal a car. So kudos to this idiot for at least trying to be original . . .
A 54-year-old guy in Indiana stole a street sweeper the other night . . . led cops on a low-speed chase that hit speeds of 10 to 15 miles an hour . . . and got arrested after he drove it into a river.
He swiped it from a highway construction site around 1:30 in the morning, and drove it through several people’s yards.
The cops tried to stop him with spike strips. But he was going so slow, he was able to drive around them. They say he hit speeds of 10 to 15 miles an hour.
At one point, he crashed into someone’s garage and almost flipped the thing. Part of the garage collapsed, but he was able to regain control and keep going.
The chase finally ended when he drove the street sweeper into a RIVER. Then he tried to take off on foot, but a police dog took him down.
Cops got him to a hospital to deal with some dog bites to his arm. He’s facing charges for vehicle theft, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless driving.
