Cedar Point is making plenty of changes for the upcoming season. The park has announced that yet another ride is being retired from the park- and this one debuted back in 1969. That’s before most people who currently go to the park were born.
I have many fond memories of going to Cedar Point but don’t quite remember this ride. Cedar Point is removing Antique Cars, a drive-it-yourself ride through Frontier Town, in order to create enough space for a new restaurant.
The attraction offers small-scale Model T-type cars on a curving track. It’s where a lot of kids get their first driving experience. In a blog post, Cedar Point spokesman Tony Clark stated that the restaurant is in the works. “Our entire team is working on menu, theming, name and more. All of that will be revealed in the coming months,” he wrote.
He also said the park has another similar ride, Cadillac Cars, that will still exist. Plus, the Antique Cars’ covered bridge would be repurposed.
