Matthew Stafford is an extremely talented athlete, but after losing three games in a row with the Rams, some of his Los Angeles critics are starting to question the Rams' big trade.

In a new column for the L.A. Times titled "Rams fans better hope Matthew Stafford is no Jared Goff," writer Dylan Hernandez discusses his views on Stafford. He also compares him to former Rams and current Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

"The problem for the Rams is that Stafford is now throwing the football like the quarterback for whom he was traded," Hernandez states.

"These explanations shouldn’t count as excuses," Hernandez adds. "The Rams are paying Stafford $20 million to be a franchise quarterback. They packaged two first-round picks with Goff for Stafford thinking he could navigate them through stretches such as this. Stafford has to perform, period."
