Favorite Michigan Restaurant Reopens After Two-Year Hiatus
If you’re like me, some of your favorite restaurants closed over the past two years. I can think of at least two of my favorite, locally-owned restaurants that went under and, sadly, haven’t come back. It might sound silly, but I even had favorite waitstaff from those restaurants and often think about them and hope they found another good gig. While some restaurants haven’t come back, thankfully, others that were forced to close are opening up again. Such is the case with a beloved Michigan eatery.
A popular restaurant for hamburgers and Cuban cuisine reopened over the weekend. While their Cuban cuisine is great, this spot was best known for their incredible burgers. They even won the Detroit Burger Battle in Eastern Market in 2017 and 2018. They really had a reputation for some of the best burgers in the state.
I’m talking about Frita Batidos in Detroit. The restaurant just reopened off Woodward Avenue, between the Fox Theater and new Little Caesars headquarters off Woodward on Columbia Street.
For now, they plan to be open Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. “We will be transitioning back to being open full time between now and baseball season,” the restaurant stated on Instagram. “Our regular hours will be 11am to 11pm Sunday thru Thursday and 11am to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.” Welcome back!
