We all find ourselves doing a little doodling when we’re bored at work, but it usually doesn’t result in losing your job, criminal charges, and a large fine.
A security guard at a cultural arts center in Russia grabbed a ballpoint pen and drew cartoon eyes on a painting. That painting, as it turns out, is 88 years old and valued at $1 million. It took about two weeks before a visitor spotted the ink and called attention to it. Officials investigated and traced the doodle to the security guard who admitted to doing it and said it was all because he was bored on his first day at work. Police were called and he’s now facing vandalism charges and could be hit with a huge fine. Needless to say, he’s also out of a job.
