It appears Michigan is getting represented on the new season of "American Idol." On Sunday (March 20), 28-year old Jacob Moran got his second opportunity to appear on the show and sang a Katy Perry song in front of Perry, a risky move.

The risk paid off, and he made it through to the next round.

Moran hails from Dansville southeast of Lansing. He currently lives in Jackson and commutes to East Lansing where he works at an infusion clinic. He was featured in Hollywood Week on the show in 2019, but his journey ended there. Now, he has a second chance.

“Wow,” added Perry. “When you think the final nail is in, think again. I may have gone to Hollywood and I may have not gotten through, but I kept fighting. I really think you chose the right song and you did it justice. You gave me full body chills. You gave my face half chills and those words were your words now. You have arrived and now is the time.”
