Spring is a great time to experience a quaint Bed and Breakfast. With the flowers blooming and that special spring scent in the air, it's just the perfect time to spend the night in a new setting and wake up with a piping hot breakfast in toe.

Michigan has some fantastic Bed and Breakfast spots. I actually don't think I've ever stayed at a local Bed and Breakfast, but I'm determined to do it soon.

The staff at Eat This, Not That! has put together a list of the best Bed and Breakfasts in the U.S., and it includes a Michigan stop. "Bed and breakfasts combine the best of both worlds—relaxing stays at gorgeous locales and hearty, gourmet breakfasts that are made fresh each morning. What could be better?" they state in the study.

Eat This, Not That! adds, "According to 2015 research provided by the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, there are approximately 17,000 (yes, those are three zeros) bed and breakfasts located throughout the country. More than a third of these have been "historically designated" by historic preservation organizations, meaning that more often than not you will get to stay in a beautiful home with rich history to match. Sounds like a dream, right?"

So, which Bed and Breakfast is No. 1 in Michigan? Kalamazoo House in Kalamazoo. Here's what Eat This, Not That! had to say about it: "Artfully designed and impeccably furnished, Kalamazoo House has been wowing guests since the 1980s. However, the inn's beautiful Victorian house has a history that dates back much further than that. For starters, it was built in the 1870s by a notable Kalamazoo businessman, David Lilienfeld, who was a prominent fixture in the community for decades. Breakfast here usually consists of two courses full of decadent options, such as raspberry-stuffed croissant French toast, roasted red pepper, spinach, and Parmesan frittatas, or streusel baked apples." "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There's just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What's extra cool is that Fieri has come to Michigan multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.

TVFoodmaps.com has compiled a full directory of all the restaurants that have appeared on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Think of this as a list of spots every Michigan food lover should visit. Some of these restaurants are familiar to me, like Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger, while others I are not. My parents actually live just a few miles from Zaytoon Mediterranean in Lansing, Michigan, and I had no idea they were featured on the show until now. They do have some great Miditerranean food. Which are your favorite Michigan spots that you think should be featured on the show? Reach out to me on social media and give me some recommendations!

In total, Fieri has highlights 16 different Michigan restaurants on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." What can I say- we have some great eating spots here! View the full list of Michigan restaurants featured on the show below, and make sure to visit them at some point. View the full list here.
