This is the Most Sustainable City in Michigan

Earth Day is coming up on April 22, and that makes me want to plant something green. I love gardening but haven’t done it in years, so maybe this is my year. In honor of Earth Day, LawnStarter has ranked 2022’s Most Sustainable Cities.

“Driving an electric car, drinking from compostable cups, growing food in our own gardens — every sustainable choice we make can help save our planet,” they state.

The study compared almost 200 of the biggest U.S. cities using 23 key indicators of eco-consciousness. “We looked at Earth-friendly policies, infrastructure, and transportation. We also measured local pollution levels and rewarded cities with sustainable food production practices,” LawnStarter stated. So, what cities are leaders, and which are behind?

In Michigan, Grand Rapids was deemed the most sustainable city around, coming in at No. 31. The only other city on the list was Detroit at No. 117. Find the full list here!
