The 4th of July marks the day we all become fans of eating to much food, this year we were fans of Joey Chestnut for a whole different reason...

Joey Chestnut walked away with the title for the 15th time over the weekend eating, 63 hotdogs and taking out one crazy protester.

Joey did this all in 10 minutes making him a badass eater and a badass overall! While Joey was smashing down his 15th hot dog, someone jumped on the stage holding a sign. The man went and stood right next to Chestnut which was a horrible idea for him.

As you will see Joey took the protester by the neck, slammed him to the ground and then went right back to taking down the dogs.

We are also starting to get some answers when it comes to what the protester was even protesting. The man showed up on the stage wearing a Darth Vader mask and holding a sign that said, “EXPOSE SMITHFIELD DEATHSTAR,” which we now believe has to do with an animal rights issue in Iowa.

Even with the distraction, he won the contest easily and made it his 15th career win at the event. I think it's safe to say Joey is the greatest competitive eater we have ever seen, and now maybe one of the best chokers we have ever seen.

Now we wait another 365 days to see people smash wet buns and hot dogs into their mouths for our enjoyment!

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
