Michigan is apparently very educated, because for a second year in a row, the state has the No. 1 most educated city in America. We have several great public universities, as well as lots of private ones, so it's no big surprise, but still nice to see us top the national list.

On Monday (July 18), WalletHub.com released their annual list of the most educated cities in the U.S. "Cities want to attract highly educated workers to fuel their economic growth and tax revenues," they state in the study. "Higher levels of education tend to lead to higher salaries. Plus, the more that graduates earn, the more tax dollars they contribute over time, according to the Economic Policy Institute. In turn, educated people want to live somewhere where they will get a good return on their educational investment. People also tend to marry others of the same educational level, which means that cities that already have a large educated population may be more attractive to people with degrees."

To find the most educated cities in America, "WalletHub compared the 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across 11 key metrics. Our data set ranges from the share of adults aged 25 and older with a bachelor’s degree or higher to the quality of the public-school system to the gender education gap."

So, what's the most educated city in America? Ann Arbor. The city has the highest percentage of high school diploma holders, highest percentage of associates degree holders or college-experienced adults and other bonuses. I know quite a few people who live in Ann Arbor, and they do talk about the high quality of public schools in the area, which is another factor. Also, Ann Arbor is, of course, home to the University of Michigan, one of the best universities in the U.S. Find out more via the YouTube video here. Find the full list here.

Picking the right college to attend is a daunting task. I remember going through the process, and it wasn't easy, although living close to one of the biggest universities in the country made it a bit easer, as I picked Michigan State University.

Some students really want to have fun in college. I mean, having fun is important, but my little bit of advice is to pick a school that has a good record in your chosen program and where you think you'll be able to grow both academically and socially.

That said, the staff at Barstool Sports has put together a list of the Top 50 Party Schools in the country. I don't really see a metric behind why these schools were chosen, but Barstool is known for their party-happy web content, so they must have done some kind of research. As it turns out, Michigan has two of the top party schools in the U.S. Michigan comes in at No. 39 on the list, and Michigan State is No. 27. I actually think both schools have great academics, too, so maybe the mantra is work hard, play hard.

My buddy Joe Winner over at ESPN Florida first posted this story, noting that this is quite a comprehensive list. Read on for the full scoop on the top 50 party schools in the U.S., and best of luck in your college search!
