Kid Rock - 2017 Little Caesars Arena (opening show)

Kid Rock was scheduled to play a sold-out show Friday night (July 25th,2022) at the North Dakota State Fair.  At 11pm, the announcement came that the show was canceled and people lost their minds, throwing beer cans at the stage and “turning the place upside down,” according to TMZ.  Why did the cancelation come SO LATE?  Apparently, there were weather issues near the fair, involving lightning.  Kid Rock tweeted, “I know it sucks but none of us can control mother nature.”

Kid Rock was scheduled to go on at 9:30pm.  Something seems strange here, but maybe it’s just me.  Night Ranger opened the show.  They played for TWO AND A HALF HOURS.  I have never heard of an opening act playing that long. It makes me feel like something else was a factor in that show being canceled.  Also, there are usually time constraints on when artists perform.  If he wasn’t on stage by 10pm, chances are, he would still have to have ended his show by 11-11:30.  Hindsight is 20/20, but man, was this situation was handled poorly.

At 11pm, after a lot of beer drinking by the crowd, the fair sent an officer from the Ward County Sheriff’s Department up to the mic to deliver the cancelation news (that poor guy).  The crowd freaked out and that’s when the mayhem ensued.  No reports of any injuries, but a couple of people got arrested and the crowd definitely jacked up the fair.
