Anyone who listens to Big Jim’s House knows that I talk about this subject at least once a week!

Someone put together the “unspoken rules” of neighborhood etiquette that will make your neighbors love you , but it isn’t rocket science.

HERE IS THE LIST:

1.  Don’t steal your neighbors’ packages and mail.  (???)

2.  If you’re parking on the street, try to leave room for others.  Also, don’t take others’ designated spots or block their driveways.

3.  Give your neighbors a heads-up when you’re having a party, and keep the noise down if it goes late.

4.  Pick up after your pets, and make sure their waste gets in your trash.

5.  Be mindful of how loud your vehicle is.

6.  Be mindful of how loud your dogs are.

7.  If you have really close neighbors who suffer from allergies or respiratory issues, let them know if mowing or grilling so they can close their windows.

8.  Keep your cats indoors.

9.  When it comes to yard maintenance, try to read the room, and don’t be the house with the worst yard on the block.

10.  Don’t peek over your neighbor’s privacy fence

All of these things on the list are ones I have thought of already and even practice! For example, I cannot stand when cars of the owners or someone living at the hosue are parked in the street. When I say this, I mean the people who move a car to the street and let it sit there for days. Get your car back in your driveway people!

Also, another thing on this list that I know one of my neighbors does is about cats. If you have a cat, make sure you control it and keep it in your yard! I don’t know how many times I have seen someone’s cat in our backyard.

When is comes down to it, just be a good person and think of others! If not, move to a lot of land.

How about this Florida person we talked about recently. Cutting his grass naked!

The course consisted of tasks you had to complete while riding a lawn mower, the first part was dodging flamingos!
