David Lee Roth continues to release tasty little acoustic songs. And this one could be his best from the John 5 sessions. It definitely feels like a love letter to the early days of Van Halen.

His latest is "Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway," a tribute to Van Halen that he recorded in 2007 with John 5 on guitar.

In a recent interview on the Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz podcast, John said, "There's a song that I just can't wait for Dave to release. It's called 'Nothing Could Have Stopped Us' and it's about Van Halen. It's my favorite song that I've ever done with Dave, and it is beautiful. I don't know why he's not releasing that one yet. And I just can't wait for people to hear that one. 'Cause it's about Van Halen. It's just absolutely wonderful. I just am really looking forward to him releasing that one."

There's more about the song HERE - but to me it's all about the lyrics. Now I want to know what happened early with the band that brought back this story:

"We laughed, we cried, we threw the television off that balcony. That memory means so much to me", "Remember when you safety pinned the tablecloth to my pants" and "Kicked out the restaurant to make the night complete, six pack and a happy meal on a park bench down the street."

Love the way Diamond Dave can turn a phrase. He's also one smart dude...do you know the real story behind the brown M&Ms on their concert contracts?
