Telsa rocks in Ann Arbor! LOL... Tesla, the inventor that is. Tesla, the rock band, is heading to Monroe! Join WCSX at the Monroe County Fair this weekend! Tesla is performing Saturday night (August 6th, 2022)! Doni had a chance to chat with Frank Hannon, founding member and lead guitarist of Tesla. Tesla has such a great story. Called "the thinking man's hair band," Tesla has some great lyrical content while still throwing the party. The band was formed in California back in 1981 by Frank Hannon (lead guitar) and Brian Wheat (bass). VH1 ranked them the 22nd greatest artist of hair metal in their top 100. Tesla's career is heavily intertwined with radio. It was a DJ who helped them get on-air exposure ahead of record releases and it was a DJ who encouraged them to get back together after the band broke up. Tesla is named after the inventor, Nikola Tesla. They even had a bust of Tesla made and tried to give to the Smithsonian... sadly, the Smithsonian said "pass." A FOR EFFORT
