Vince Neil Struggles at the Opry
Vince Neil made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry over the weekend and I have one simple question, when will we stop paying so much to hear this guy sing?
Vince Neil headlined a solo show at the Grand Ole Opry over the weekend, this was his first ever time playing there. Somehow the crowd gave him a stand ovation, after a very lack luster performance.
My only thought is that people are going to see him just to say they saw him perform. Once again Vince’s vocals were a skeleton of what he use to do, but the crowd ended up giving him a standing ovation at the end.

I am not trying to rip Vince, but I think this is one of those cases where people rewarded him for what he use to do, even after spending their hard earned money on tickets to see him.
This is not the first time this summer we’ve heard he wasn’t on top of his game. Earlier, he sold out Comerica park with Def Lepperd and the same reports came out. Fan said the music was so loud, which made it clear that they were trying to drowned out Vince’s vocals.
Some of you may remember when Vince performed at our Rockin’ on the Riverfront show a few years ago. That night was the same thing, the music was so loud that you could barley hear Vince.
Now for my point:
I get wanting to see your favorite artists one last time before they may call it quits, but for the money we are paying these guys it seems like we should be getting a better product. I love Motley Crue, so to hear this makes me very sad.
We have seen ticket prices for our favorite artists sky rocket in the past year and for what reason? So they can make up for the past 2 years of not performing? I get that we pay people for what they have done, not what we think they will do. This just seems like it’s starting to get a little out of control.
I guess when it comes down to it this is just my opinion and I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t go see Crue if they came back to town. I just wish these guys would stop taking every possible dollar out there and finish their careers with honor and their fans in mind.
For a nicer take on Vince here is a great story from WCSX:
