Backstage With George Thorogood

Man what a blast our 35th Anniversary concert was last night at Pine Knob! While we were broadcasting backstage, George Thorogood stopped by to say hello!

While broadcasting live backstage, Big Jim, Dave and myself were joined by the one and only George Thorogood. George was so fired up to be back at Pine Knob he stayed with the boys for 15 minutes, talking everything Rock n Roll and Detroit.

Here is our interview with the great, George Thorogood!

After George spoke with us, he took the stage for over an hour playing all of his great music and getting the crowd fueled and fired up for Sammy and the Circle.

One thing we noticed about George was his shirt. He was wearing a J Giels Band shirt and was proud of it! George also touched on what Detroit and Pine Knob means to him, he continued to talk about how it was always Pine Knob and would never be called anything else!

One thing I noticed during our time with him was how pumped he was just to be playing music still. He said he could go back to playing at the car wash and that would be okay with him, which I thought was pretty cool seeing the success he has had.

The night overall was a major success and that's because of you! All of the fans and listeners that showed up and rocked out for our Birthday made the night!

Something else that made the night was Doni trying to slide down the Hill! Sorry Doni, I have to share this video any chance I get!

Once again, thank you to everyone who came out and supported the night. We had a blast and hope we did a good job of taking you backstage with us and the artists.

VAN HALEN REUNION?

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
