Michigan Goldfish Are Built Different
I would call you a liar if you told me you’ve seen a gold fish this big before.
A man from Flint was fishing on the Pine River which runs into the Saginaw bay of Lake Huron over the weekend. He caught a fish that you wouldn’t expect to see caught in a river.
That part of the story is the least strangest part of it! When the man pulled the fish out of the water he noticed something, the fish he caught was a massive goldfish!
Now the man said he has seen some goldfish in the river but never one this size!
“We have found and speared smaller ones, but nothing of this magnitude,” Wares Jr. said. “They (goldfish) seem to be out in that vicinity because my friend his boys went back out the following night and shot four or five more, but they were a lot smaller.”
“We hit Pine River access at 10 o’clock at night,” Wares Jr. said. “We stayed in the shallows and shot carp and goldfish and dogfish and catfish. It’s nothing too exciting of a story.”
“Every year we go out, this time of year, we see more and more of them. It’s like the goldfish time,” he continued. “We take everything back and it becomes mulch for next year’s garden.”

reports say that Goldfish will only grow to the size of their tank so it clear to see why this one got so big!
I’ll be honest I didn’t even know Goldfish could grow to a size like that, I thought you took them home from the fair and waited for them to die.
I feel horrible about this but I will never forget the time buddies and I were at the Livonia Spree fair and won some Goldfish. We later went on a water ride called “White Rapids”. During the ride we thought it would be a good idea to release the fish into the ride. Not a good choice, I know!
