Last season, Lions fans thought Jared Goff's performance was a bit shaky, at best. He did start to come through towards the end of the season, though, and now, many NFL analysts are saying it could be a sweet year for both Goff and the Lions.

I know. It's scary to get your hopes up about the Lions. It's like going through a bad breakup and then being scared to fall in love again. Okay, maybe not, but getting one's hopes up for the Lions never seems to end well.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano recently posted an article where he looked at each NFL team and named off some potential surprises for this season. He thought Goff could be the surprising piece of the Lions pie this season, in a good way.

"I’m saying the Lions feel very, very good about how Goff has looked in camp, and he may be better set up for statistical success than you think he is," he said (via Heavy.com).

Okay, so he's not saying Goff is going to be the next Tom Brady. But it's still a promising prediction.
