Chicken fingers are good times. There's obviously a big love for chicken throughout Michigan, and chicken fingers are part of that love affair.

Now, a beloved national restaurant known for its chicken fingers is opening its first Michigan restaurant. The official opening date is Tuesday (Oct. 18).

The much-anticipated opening of Raising Cane's in Michigan will take place in East Lansing, as the new location is right off the campus of Michigan State University. Located at 301 Grand River Ave in East Lansing, Raising Canes' first-ever Michigan location will offer its famed chicken fingers and Cane's Sauce. To get ready for the grand opening, Raising Cane's has hired more than 130 local crewmembers for multiple positions. To officially open the location, 20 lucky customers will have a chance to win "Free Cane's for a Year." Entries for the contest will be accepted from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and 20 winners will be drawn at 9:00 a.m. Also at 9 a.m., East Lansing Mayor Ron Bacon will be on hand with other City Council and Chamber of Commerce members for a ribbon cutting ceremony. MSU's Cheerleaders and Dance Team will also be there, Raising Cane's will present the athletes with a $1,000 check in support of MSU Athletics.

"As a native Michigander, I am so excited to officially be opening our first Raising Cane’s in Michigan," Jenn Szewc, Raising Cane’s Regional Leader of Restaurants, said in a statement. "There is so much enthusiasm and anticipation already among our East Lansing Caniacs, and I could not think of a better location to open than in the heart of MSU's campus. All our new Michigan Crew are trained and ready to serve up our amazing Chicken Finger Meals, and we cannot wait to get started." Raising Cane's will serve Customers from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday-Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday. For more information, visit the restaurant's website.

"Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There's just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What's extra cool is that Fieri has come to Michigan multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.

TVFoodmaps.com has compiled a full directory of all the restaurants that have appeared on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Think of this as a list of spots every Michigan food lover should visit. Some of these restaurants are familiar to me, like Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger, while others I are not. My parents actually live just a few miles from Zaytoon Mediterranean in Lansing, Michigan, and I had no idea they were featured on the show until now. They do have some great Miditerranean food. Which are your favorite Michigan spots that you think should be featured on the show? Reach out to me on social media and give me some recommendations!

In total, Fieri has highlights 16 different Michigan restaurants on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." What can I say- we have some great eating spots here! View the full list of Michigan restaurants featured on the show below, and make sure to visit them at some point. View the full list here.
