People often refer to the night before Thanksgiving as the biggest bar night of the year, although others say New Year's Eve is really the largest. Regardless, if you like to get your drink and party on, then the evening before Thanksgiving is a good time to do so.

With that being said, one Michigan bar is gearing up to host an alternative type of bar night. If you don't feel like drinking, or are too young to drink, this could be your spot.

On Nov. 23, the Loving Touch in Ferndale will host a "Sober Party." As the name implies, this event will have no alcohol served, so everyone can be a designated driver. While there won't be alcoholic drinks, there will be plenty of alcohol-free drinks and mocktails available.

"The Loving Touch is hosting a 100% Sober Party the night before Thanksgiving!" they state on the event's ticket page. "We'll have Craft Mocktails, N/A Beverages, DJ and Dancing. All booze will be removed from the bar prior to the event. Let's Party!" Cover is $5.

DJ Mahled will be on hand for "Sober Party" to spin party songs. All ages are welcome. (I totally wish they had something like this when I was 18.) Doors open at 9 p.m. The Loving Touch is located at 22634 Woodward in Ferndale. For more information, call (248) 820-5596 or visit thelovingtouchferndale.com.

Is where you're living getting in the way of you finding true love? Maybe. And, if that's true, then you have an excuse to give your pestering relatives when they ask you why you're single once the holidays roll around.

According to a new study, many U.S. cities have a demographic makeup that make them really bad for dating, while others are excellent for it. Researchers at Sperling's BestPlaces used several key factors with U.S. Census data to create the ranking, such as percentage of singles ages 18-24, population and number of dating venues per capita. Those venues would be places such as restaurants, coffee shops and bars- spots people often frequent when going on dates. I think they also should have included record stores, because those are great places for a first date, but they didn't ask me.

"Hooking that hottie is hard enough without the odds stacked against you, so the city researchers at Sperling's BestPlaces have identified for you 'America’s Best and Worst Cities for Dating,'" the study reads. "The study is based on criteria that includes percentage of singles ages 18-24, population density, and dating venues per capita such as concerts, coffee shops, bars, bowling alleys, etc., and includes 80 metro areas in America. We teamed up with AXE Deodorant Bodyspray, which specializes in the dating game, to find out which city is revered as the D.C. (Dating Capital) of the U.S."

As it turns out, one Michigan city is one of the best in America for dating, while another is at the bottom. Many of the best cities for dating are surprising, too, as they aren't the big meccas that usually show up on these lists. Read on for the top 10 cities for dating in America. Find more information on the study on dating in the U.S. here.
