NFL Legend Says Detroit Lions Have Their ‘Best Quarterback Since the 1970s’
The Detroit Lions are hot. Despite last weekend’s loss, the team is still one of the most talked-about in the NFL, in a good way, and still has some playoff hopes. Detroit towered over the Chicago Bears on Sunday (Jan. 1), bringing them a bit closer to making the post-season.
The NFL has especially taken note of Detroit’s strong offense. While quarterback Jared Goff faced some criticism last season, this year, he’s on fire. In December, his stats were some of the best in the NFL. In fact, he accomplished the fifth-most passes for the second-most yards and the fourth-most touchdowns.
During the Fox’s halftime show during Sunday’s game, former pro football player and TV personality Michael Strahan commented that Detroit has their “best quarterback since the 1970s,” referring to Jared Goff. That’s quite a statement, since Matthew Stafford was the Lions’ quarterback for more than a decade and is often referred to as a choice player. Check out photos from Sunday’s game below!
