The Greatest Grandpa EVER!

This Minnesota grandpa is making the rounds all over the internet and being called the “greatest grandpa” ever! This is really cool, this grandpa from Minnesota just created the thing…

Hunter Church

Hunter Church, 25, is a third generation bobsledder from New York. He made the podium for the first time in 2020, becoming the first U.S. bobsled pilot to win a world cup medal since the late Steven Holcomb took third in four-man at the Innsbruck World Cup in February 2017.

This is really cool, this grandpa from Minnesota just created the thing of dreams. "Papa Bear Plunge" is what his grandkids are calling it. A 200 foot long sledding course in his backyard.

Here is a video of what it looks like riding down the course.

This is really cool and makes this grandpa one of the greatest of all time, but it also reminded me of a story from when I was a kid.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a neighborhood that had cool kids and even cooler parents. One year when we were all really into snowboarding, my dad and our neighbor took all of the snow from our yards and created an awesome snowboarding hill and trick course for us.

They started with a massive hill that led off to different paths. Each path had something on it, one had a picnic table so we could ride it, another had a rail so we could grid.

That is something I will never forget and seeing this story just brought backs some great memories. There was only one problem with them doing it. I don't think the snow melted until early summer.

It is funny how different stories bring back memories, I haven't thought about that hill in years. Cool to relive it.

Remember this local luge track from a few years ago?

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
