A 10-year-old kid created history at a high school basketball game in North Dakota by making a layup, free throw, three-pointer, and half-court shot all within 25 seconds to win $10,000!

J.J. Franks is a young 10 year old from North Dakota who has now caught the eye of sports fans everywhere.

We have seen these contests before at basketball games, but we rarely see someone get the job done. J.J. Franks said, no problem and won himself 10 thousand dollars.

The first challenge was the layup, J.J. made that one with ease.  The crowd erupted with applause as the young man made his way to the free throw line for the second shot of the contest.  He took a deep breath, focused on the basket, and made the shot with ease. Next up what the tough 3 pointer. As you could guess, J.J drained the 3 pointed with enough time to spare and went to the half court line.

This is where most people thought his chance to win 10 thousand dollars was over. But J.J. had a surprise for them all. He wound back and fired the ball like a shot put, the ball swished just as the clock expired and J.J. is now the richest kid in his school.

Here is the video of J.J. making the half court shot for 10 thousand dollars.

It's safe to say this kid will be a legend in his North Dakota town for a long time to come.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
