Tom Izzo and the Spartans Are Back in the Sweet 16
It’s been an up-and-down season for the Michigan State men’s basketball team, but there’s no denying the strength and resilience of Tom Izzo, and it’s always good when the ups fall in March.
Izzo and his 7-seed team powered through a game they were supposed to lose on Sunday (March 19) to bring home a win, toppling over 2-seed Marquette, 69-60.
Now, the Spartans are in the Sweet 16. It’s their first time in the Sweet 16 since 2019. The showing gives Izzo the most wins in NCAA tournament history as the lower-seeded team with 16. As a MSU graduate, I’m so proud of our Spartans. Go, Izzo!
