This story coming out of the city of Dearborn will give you mixed emotions. On one hand, this guy is a dumbass, on another his plan was great!

A Redford man disguised himself as a Walmart employee while trying to escape from police officers yesterday (4/10). It all started when the man began speeding and driving recklessly down the local freeways. The chopper pointed him out and the chase began. The man was in a stolen Dodge charger and after failing to stop, he led the Michigan State Police on a 45 minute police chase though Dearborn and into the parking lot of the Walmart on Ford rd.

Here is where you will think he was a genius. After pulling around back of the Walmart, the man walked right in and began to act like an employee.

"One of the workers said, ‘Hey, that guy doesn’t work here.’ Troopers confronted him. One of them said, ‘Yep, that’s our guy.’ He ran to the front of the store where troopers were able to tackle him," MSP Lt. Michael Shaw said. "Now, this is the first time we’ve had somebody go into a Walmart and try to disguise himself as a Walmart worker, and kudos to the person who got involved."

The man was arrested and booked later that day.

But honestly, that is a great move by the thief. Now it has me thinking, what are the best ways to blend in and avoid getting caught? A sports game would have to be the best, tons of people, hard to walk around and get spotted.

Unfortunately for this guy, he ran into a Walmart employee who actually knows who they work with.

Here is the video of what happened:

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
