Michigan Haunted House to Open ‘Halfway to Halloween’ – First Look Photos
I’ve often wondered why haunted houses aren’t open year-round, whether it’s in Michigan or beyond. I mean, it would be a lot more comfortable to go haunted house-hopping when it’s nice outside instead of in the chill of October. It would also be more comfortable to wear a Halloween costume when it’s warm out, unless you’re in a big, fuzzy getup or something.
As it turns out, one Michigan haunted house is taking on the idea of having its doors open in May. The move is to honor the halfway point to Halloween. Think of it as their version of Christmas in July with a special weekend of events in May.
The event, dubbed “Halfway to Halloween,” celebrates all things Halloween. It’s basically a huge haunted house expedience, but in May. I think it sounds like so much fun.
That haunted house is Deranged Haunted Attraction in Romulus, who will open their “Halfway to Halloween Trail” on Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13, for one weekend only. The event tells the tale of Greeno Industries, with the haunt stating that Greeno “was an industrial company that remained rather mysterious behind locked gates and barbed wire fences. The premises they operate on were dark and secured while visitors were not permitted. There had been rumblings across town that the Greeno Industrial Plant was working outside of their agreement with the local government. It was said they were working on a larger money-making product utilizing harsher chemicals with toxicity levels that were far beyond the approved regulations.” Find more about the story here. Deranged Haunted Attraction is located at 35560 Goddard Road in Romulus. Check out a video teaser for the event here. For tickets, go here.
