Cedar Point is a fun destination for people in Ohio, Michigan and the Midwest, in general.
Now, the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park has lowered its price of gate admission for the first time in almost two decades.
The legendary park will charge $80 for gate admission in 2023. That's down from $85 last year. According to Cleveland.com, the gate admission was $75 in 2021. The outlet also states that the latest gate price drop was way back in 2006, when the cost of gate admission went from $44.95 to $39.95.
Cedar Point increased gate admission costs a lot coming out of the pandemic. It was a common move for many amusement parks and entertainment spots, as they tried to make up for lost revenue. In addition to the pandemic, rising gas prices and other economic factors also contributed to the price changes.
Of course, many people who visit Cedar Point don't just walk up and buy tickets. Those who go through Cedar Point's website can find tickets for as low as $49.99 for most days, according to Cleveland.com. In addition, the Cedar Point Gold Pass season tickets are $140 and come with unlimited admission to the amusement and water parks, parking and in-park discounts. For those who love thrills and big coasters, Cedar Point is always a fun stop. Check out 10 rides we miss below.
They say all good things must come to an end. That's even true in the world of roller coasters.
In honor of spring and summer being here, we're looking back on some of our favorite Cedar Point coasters that are no longer!
Top Thrill Dragster
Last August, a Cedar Point guest was seriously injured at the park. As she was waiting in line for the Top Thrill Dragster, the woman was hit by a flying part off the ride and subsequently injured. The ride won't be back for 2022, but no word on if it will be back after that.
Mantis
Cedar Point converted the Mantis into a floorless roller coaster named Rougarou in 2015, the latter of which is still there. But, some people miss the Mantis!
Antique Cars
Just this season, Cedar Point removed Antique Cars, a drive-it-yourself ride through Frontier Town, in order to create enough space for a new restaurant.
Wicked Twister
Wicked Twister welcomed its first passengers at Cedar Point on May 5, 2002. It actually held the record for the world’s tallest and fastest twisting impulse roller coaster. It closed last year!
