Michigan Air Show Named One Of Best In North America
Air shows are full of plenty of entertainment, stunts, and skillful piloting of air crafts. Most air shows take place from late spring through mid-fall. USA Today: 10Best had their readers vote on the best air shows in North America. And ranked amongst the top ten is a Michigan air show.
You can find one of Michigan’s best air shows in Battle Creek. The Great Lakes state made the list at number six with the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show. This mid-summer event in Michigan is an air show and balloon festival rolled into one.
When visiting this air show, one can expect air shows of military and civilian aircraft, a twilight and night air show, fireworks, concerts, and hot air balloon launches. This year, the festival will take place from June 29 through July 4 at the Battle Creek Executive Airport.
The number one airshow is in London, Ontario with Airshow London. It’s advertised as Canada’s Original Drive-In Air Show.” They said guests could experience the “Sky Drive” from the comfort of their cars and view an aerial show that features multiple performers, including the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
Out of the ten best airshows, the MCAS Miramar Air Show in San Diego ranked last on the list. Spectators can enjoy a performance by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels each year. Though it’s considered the largest military show in the U.S., Michigan still ranked higher.
Two Pennsylvania air shows also made the list, Mid-Atlantic Air Museum’s World War II Weekend in Reading (#3) and the Great Pocono Raceway Airshow in Long Pond (#7).

2 Michigan Car Shows Named Best In The Nation
According to USA Today’s 10 Best, two car shows in Michigan are among the best in the nation. Amongst cities like Los Angeles, California, Louisville, Kentucky, and others, Detroit and Pontiac made the list.
Number six
The Woodward Dream Cruise took the number 6 spot for the best car show. Currently, it’s the world’s biggest cruise drawing in over one million people and over 40,000 classic cars each year. It started as a small fundraiser for a soccer field in Ferndale in 1995.
Nelson House and a group of volunteers looked to relive and recreate the nostalgic times of the ’50s and ’60s on Woodward Avenue. Annually, the Woodward Dream Cruise takes place in August on the third Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm.
Number five
Ahead of the Woodward Dream Cruise, the site listed Pontiac’s Cars & Coffee event. On the first Saturday of each month, car enthusiasts gather to showcase their cars at M1 Concourse. Each event has a unique car theme, with selected cars matching the theme displayed in the arena parking area. Members of the M1 Concourse Car Club will have their vehicles on display as well.

It’s considered “America’s largest block party,” with more than 7,000 cars in a large show along the beachside highway on the Mississippi Coast. Happening since 1996, the annual event has live music, food, merchandise, a car auction, a swap meet, and a parade.
