Thank YOU For Showing Love to Zak The Window Washer
We have this saying on the show “Nobody Can Help Everyone, But Everyone Can Help Someone” – witness the turnout and support for Zak The Window Washer (and his wife Spring) Saturday night at the Eagles club on Cooley Lake in Waterford.
If you don’t know who Zak The Window Washer is – that’s totally cool. He’s a regular listener (and contributor) to the show…always with a funny observation and keeping us updated on his job as a window washer working his way up to bigger and bigger buildings.
Zak is quick with a joke or funny line on the air, and his wife Spring would call in to correct him (which was just as much fun).
Unfortunately Zak and Spring have run into a rough patch that would make anyone shake their head and wonder how they keep moving forward. Zak lost his job, then multiple medical episodes (still working on diagnosis), plus their car decided to break down. But through it all they’ve both kept a positive attitude which has motivated and inspired listeners to help.
Which leads us to Saturday night at the Eagles Club in Waterford. Our friend Roger from “The Dudes” (fun band – they’ve done a Big Jim’s House version of their song “Partytime”) reached out and wanted to turn their show into a fundraiser for Zak and Spring. And it was amazing.
From 50/50 raffle tickets to people just walking up to Zak and Spring handing them money and wishing them well, it was inspiring to watch. I watch folks they’ve never met coming up to give them a hug and wish Zak nothing but the best. The entire evening was so much more than expected – in the best way possible.
