Beloved Michigan Restaurant Makes ‘America’s Best Restaurants’ Show
Michigan has so many fantastic restaurants. That said, it’s always exciting when a local restaurant gets spotlighted on a program that has reach outside of Michigan.
One longstanding Michigan restaurant has been named one of “America’s Best Restaurants” and will be featured on an upcoming episode of the show. If you aren’t familiar, “America’s Best Restaurants” is a traveling show that highlights locally-owned restaurants. If you are a food lover, you’ll probably enjoy their program.
The Michigan show that’s been picked up an upcoming episode is Mt. Pleasant’s famed Pixie. “America’s Best Restaurants” will will bring its “ABR Roadshow” to the Pixie restaurant on June 22. During the episode, they’ll highlight popular dishes from the restaurant, plus feature a special on-camera interview with owner Jeff Neely about how the restaurant enhances the community. The show will air on social media channels, with a date pending.
Pixie opened way back in 1948, and the restaurant is known for their Coneys and Bitty Burgers. The restaurant actually started as a summer-only drive-in spot. Today, the inside of Pixie still looks like a 1950s diner with bright, nostalgic pieces, such as a jukebox, classic cars and neon lighting. Specifically, “America’s Best Restaurants” will be filming on location on June 22 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The restaurant’s episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and be spotlighted on America’s Best Restaurants’ website at Americasbestrestaurants.com/rests/michigan/the-pixie. Big congratulations to Pixie for being named one of “America’s Best Restaurants” and bringing their food to the masses. For more information on the “ABR Roadshow,” go here.
