Prime Day is here, and the hunt for the best bargains is officially on. It's like a massive game where everyone's on a mission to score the best deals in town. The online shopping world is full of excitement as people from all walks of life try to uncover hidden gems at deep discounts. Upgraded Points took a deep dive into America's obsession with Amazon, giving us a peek into consumer behavior nationwide. They surveyed over 3,000 online shoppers across 44 states to explore the depth of Amazon users' relationship with the online retail giant. In the survey, respondents were asked to rate their level of Amazon addiction on a scale from 1 to 10. The results showed that some states definitely have Amazon super-fans.

Most Amazon-Obsessed States.

Alabama takes the lead with 36.5% of respondents admitting their Amazon obsession falls between 7 and 10 on the scale. The top five states that absolutely adore Amazon are Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, and a neck-and-neck tie between Kansas and New Hampshire. More than 30% of the participants share a similar Amazon devotion.

Ironically, the state that stands out for not loving Amazon is none other than Washington, the very location of their headquarters. When it comes to being less obsessed with Amazon, Washington isn't alone. Other states like Oregon, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Connecticut also don't go (as) crazy over the online retail giant.

The survey also looks into the spending habits of Amazon shoppers in each state. According to the report, Americans spend an average of $91.75 per month on Amazon. While Prime members spend $110 per month on Amazon, compared to non-members who spend an average of just $38.

Tennessee residents claimed the top spot as the highest spenders, shelling out an average of $124.22 monthly. Other states that followed suit in terms of high average monthly spending include Delaware ($114), Wisconsin ($113.66), and Iowa ($113.46). Washington, on the other hand, seems to be in a state of denial because according to the same survey, it ranks among the top five states with one of the highest monthly spending averages on Amazon.
