Hey Detroit – We Found The Ultimate Cheeseburger
How much cheese is TOO MUCH cheese on a cheeseburger? We’re about to find out with a new creation from Burger King.
Burger King is selling a new burger in Thailand that’s not really a “burger” at all.
They’re calling it the “Real Cheeseburger,” but there’s no meat . . . just a bun with TWENTY SLICES of American cheese on it. (???)
Someone in Thailand went and tried it – doesn’t look very melty…but you’d still eat it at 2am.
For its initial run, they’re only charging $3.00. But they’ll eventually sell it for $11. So it sounds like they plan to make it a permanent menu option in Thailand.
No word on whether they’re bringing it to the U.S. or not, but you can already get one if you want. Just order a cheeseburger . . . no ketchup, mustard, pickles, OR meat . . . and ask for 19 extra slices of cheese.
So where do you go for a great burger in Detroit – and by burger I mean one with meat and other stuff on it…not just cheese. Here’s a couple to consider:
- Millers in Dearborn: Still my favorite bar burger in Detroit. There’s something about the grill and the limited menu, a slice of Velveeta and some onions on the side. They bring it out wrapped in wax paper and you just eat (no plates, etc). If you googled “old school” I’m pretty sure a picture of Millers would show up.
- Vinsetta Garage: This place is just cool – it’s on Woodward in Berkeley and they’ve been nail a great burger for years (I’m partial to the 3am burger myself…something about an egg on a burger just works)
- Shamrock in Utica: They flame broil the burgers in the bar and on a nice day you definitely hang outside, have a cold one and a great burger (that’s not a bad day in my book).
Of course we also took a couple of road trips – including one to check out a great burger
