Keanu Reeves Is Michigan Bound: What To Know
Keanu Reeves is set to visit Michigan later this year, but it won’t be for acting purposes. The actor known for the John Wick franchise, among many other films, is on tour with his band, Dogstar. The band has recently announced their plans to release their first album in two decades titled Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees.
The band features Keanu Reeves on bass, Bret Domrose on vocals and guitar, and Robert Mailhouse on drums. The show will take place at the Majestic Theatre in Detroit on Friday, December 8. Tickets went on sale today at 10:00 a.m.
The forthcoming album is set to be released on October 6, 2023, and is already open for pre-order. The first single, titled “Everything Turns Around,” is currently available.
Dogstar, an alternative rock band from sunny Los Angeles, California, made a splash in the media in the early ’90s. Back in the day, they dropped two full-length albums, Our Little Visionary in 1996 and Happy Ending in 2000, before deciding to part ways in 2002. They got back together last year. Making their official comeback in May 2023, they rocked the stage at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival.
Reeves has revisited a lot of past successes in recent years: in 2020, he returned to the role of Ted “Theodore” Logan in Bill And Ted Face The Music. The following year, he revisited Thomas Anderson, aka “Neo,” in the very meta The Matrix Resurrections. Earlier this year, he played John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 4. Next year will see the first John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, which will see him play Wick once again. And while there has long been rumors that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has wanted to cast Reeves, it hasn’t yet happened. However, he did work for the competition: he voiced Bruce (Batman) Wayne in last year’s DC League Of Super Pets.
