Detroit Tigers annual ¡Fiesta Tigres!

DETROIT, MI – AUGUST 11: Jim Adduci #37 of the Detroit Tigers celebrates with Victor Reyes #22 of the Detroit Tigers after scoring against the Minnesota Twins on a hit by James McCann of the Detroit Tigers during the second inning at Comerica Park on August 11, 2018 in Detroit, Michigan. The Tigers just finished up a road trip to Miami, were they only took 1 game out of 3. The news wasn't about the games though, it was about the scoreboard operator and his unvetted messages.

All around the Major Leagues this year we have seen some very funny scoreboard messages, a few of them however have been a bit over the line depending who you are.

For example, take the Miami Marlines scoreboard operator for example. A couple of times over the weekend he displayed messages that we cannot believe were approved to go up on the board.  The first one we noticed was his shot at how many people have left Detroit over the years. Then he followed it up by making fun of the Tiger population at the Detroit Zoo.

Here is a photo of the messages:

But don't worry, Detroit fans were ready to responded on Twitter and the comments were amazing. Here are a few of those:

@TheGoldenHart
Fun fact about Miami! State Farm no longer insures your homes or businesses because they know you're gonna be underwater in 5 years, and no one will want to buy your home so you can't move away from the floods that will destroy your livelihood. Wow, this IS fun to do!

@SportyLaF0rge
First roast is lame af especially since your city will be underwater relatively soon

@JakesBadTweets
Only reason they sold any tickets is because their greatest player of all time who they traded to Detroit for nothing came back to town lol

That's what we love about our city, and something we say all the time. If you are from Detroit then you can talk smack, if you are not from here then keep Detroit out of your mouth!

Miami is not the only ones to this though. Over the weekend, Pittsburg did the same thing to Philly.

Now these are more acceptable, they are talking crap about the sports teams. Not ripping on the city:

This is for sure the most wild one we have seen this year.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
