Steve Yzerman, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings, made an announcement regarding the team's upcoming events. The Red Wings are set to return to Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City. They will host the NHL Prospect Tournament, the Training Camp, and the 2023 Training Camp Golf Classic at the Traverse City Country Club.

Traverse City is once again the venue for the 24th edition of the NHL Prospect Tournament, scheduled from September 14 to September 17. This year's tournament will feature a four-team lineup. The Detroit Red Wings will welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, and Toronto Maple Leafs for a round-robin competition. It will take place over the course of four days. Each team will play three games during this event.

"Over the tournament’s history, 756 players have moved on to play in at least one NHL game, including 20 who played for the Red Wings in 2022-23," said the news release. Some of these players include Jonatan Berggren, Tyler Bertuzzi, Ben Chiarot (Atlanta), Ville Husso (St. Louis), and Dylan Larkin. They all participated in this tournament earlier in their careers.

To begin their annual NHL Training Camp, the Red Wings will kick off with the 2023 Training Camp Golf Classic. This event is scheduled for September 20 and will take place at the Traverse City Country Club. The proceeds from this golf tournament will go to a non-profit organization that offers affordable skating programs in Northern Michigan.

The 2023-24 Red Wings are scheduled to begin their Training Camp on September 21 and will continue daily until September 25. Throughout the camp, the Red Wings’ players, prospects, and tryouts will be divided into teams. The teams will engage in practice sessions and scrimmage matches. One of the camp highlights will be the annual Red and White Game, set on September 24. Following this game, the team will stay in Traverse City for a practice session on September 25 before heading to Detroit to initiate their preseason schedule. The complete training camp schedule and a detailed camp roster will be unveiled later.

More information on all September events featuring the Red Wings in Traverse City and tickets be found here. Additionally, tickets will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis at the arena's entrance on the day of each event.
