Rolling Stones Take Out Cryptic Newspaper Ad
The Rolling Stones have officially started teasing their new album.
They placed an ad in a London newspaper that reads as follows:
Hackney Diamonds
Specialists in Glass Repair
Opening September 2023
Our friendly team promises you Satisfaction. When you say Gimme Shelter we’ll fix your shattered windows.
Above the Hackney Diamonds logo is their tongue and lips logo, while at the bottom it says, “Established 1962,” which is when the Stones formed.
If you call the number on the ad, the message you get is: “Welcome to Hackney Diamonds, specialists in glass repair. Don’t get angry, get it fixed. Opening early September. Mare Street, E8. Register for a call at HackneyDiamonds.com. Come on then!”
And, if you go to HackneyDIamonds.com, it’s registered to Universal Music, which is their label.
Trying to dissect what the title references, Hackney is a section in East London, and Diamonds perhaps references last year being their 60th anniversary.
What we do know is that an announcement is imminent; the album will be out in October or possibly early November; it features their late drummer Charlie Watts on multiple songs, with Steve Jordan, who took over on tour, on the others; former bassist Bill Wyman plays on one track in tribute to Watts; and Paul McCartney also plays on a track; and in June Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood were in New York filming and taking photos for the album.
Hackney Diamonds is their first album of original material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang, and first studio album since their blues covers collection Blue & Lonesome in 2016.
And I know we’re getting ahead of ourselves – but remember when the Stones toured in 2021 and Mick was showing up everywhere? Mick was just enjoying the city they were in and taking pictures at famous spots. (including Detroit)
Here is a little look back at what Mick has been up to while on tour.
Here he is in Atlanta:
Now on to Dallas,
Don’t forget Nashville:
Now we want to know where YOU think Mick will visit while here in Detroit!
We have some photos of Mick in Detroit but you still have time incase he gets more photos up: Check them out!
