As everyone recovers from last week’s storm here in the Detroit area, we wanted to make sure everyone saw this awesome video out of White Lake. There is a new fish in White Lake, it’s called the White Lake Drain Fish and only comes out during flooding.
Last week Michigan and mainly Metro Detroit saw some very intense storms, even a few tornados. One thing we didn’t expect to see was wildlife making it’s way onto our roads. The flooding was so bad off of M-59 in White lake that a fish washed up on the road.
Here is the video:

Good on this White Lake cop to jump out of the car and brace the flooding to help save this fish. If it dried out and no one helped the fish, it would have died. Now, me personally, thinks he should have taken it home and fried it up! But anyway, good one the officer. I don’t think he woke up that morning and predicted he was going to have to save a fish form a main intersection.
Last week’s storms were some of the most intense storms I have ever see in my 32 years of living. I live out in Howell and we were very close to getting hit by the Tornado that came through Williamston and Webberville. Thankfully it broke up and didn’t get to us. But man was that night scary, we woke up our 15 month old baby Finnian and got down to the basement. Sitting there watching the news and watching our son made me realize how lucky we are to have a safe place to go during those times.
Anyway, if storms it us again, here are some tips.
