Waterford Mott High Moves Football Games Due to Flood Damage
The Waterford School District has announced a change in venue for high school football games. Due to recent flooding, Waterford Mott High School home games will now occur at Kettering High School. Families in the district have been notified of this change.
Following excessive rain and winds last Friday, the field at the Waterford School District has areas of rippling across the turf. Sarah Davis, Director of Communications and Community Relations, stated that the field’s middle logo and surrounding areas were particularly affected. The school officials have met with various turf and field experts to determine the best course of action.

They are uncertain how long the Waterford Mott Corsairs will be playing at Kettering. “We are continuing to work with these experts to determine the best plan for making our field playable again while also ensuring our students have a safe playing surface,” said Davis.
Meanwhile, the athletic department, school administration at Waterford Mott and Waterford Kettering, and coaches, staff, parents, and student-athletes are collaborating to make the transition as smooth as possible. “We want our Mott students to feel at home and are doing things to ensure they feel that way, even hanging Mott décor and signage during game time so the games feel like they are still at Mott stadium,” said Davis.
School officials are working quickly to get more answers and plans in place if repairs are required during the spring and summer months. However, the focus is now on a successful Fall sports season. A recent letter to parents stated that the athletic department is working with teams to accommodate practice schedules.
Over 8 years ago, Braun Construction Group was the construction manager for the Waterford School District Outdoor Athletic Facility Improvements project for Waterford Mott High School and other Waterford schools.. The project included the reconstruction of both high school football stadiums and adding new amenities such as bathrooms, bleachers, lighting, track and field areas, athletic synthetic turf, landscaping, event areas, field equipment, fencing, and tennis courts.
7 Hilarious Football Fan Superstitions Shared by Redditors
Football fans are gearing up for the upcoming NFL season. Some fans are so passionate that their enthusiasm borders on religious fervor. And yes, they pray for their team. Beyond their prayers, they also have some superstitions. You know the types: they go barechested in zero degree weather and paint themselves in their favorite team’s colors. Their mood for the week depends on if their team won or lost. There are fans and then there devout believers. Those are the ones who get a bit too superstitious.
Football fans superstitions
You know that person who stays in the same spot throughout an entire game, and when their team gives up possession they change positions? That’s who we’re talking about. So, when things are going well, they’re practically immobile. They won’t step away for food or even use the bathroom. Why? Because they can’t risk “messing up the flow.” On the other hand, if things are not going as planned, they might wander around the living room persistently in search of a lucky seat where good things could potentially happen. Of course, for some fans, their ritualistic and superstitious behaviors might just be traditions, regardless of whether their team comes out on top or experiences a loss.
From wearing a specific jersey to eating a particular snack, these rituals are believed to bring luck and influence the game. For instance, some fans might have a lucky pre-game routine, like wearing mismatched socks or doing a little victory dance before kickoff. Even food choices play a role, with some fans only eating certain foods while watching the game, like nachos or chicken wings, believing that deviating from this menu might lead to bad luck. It’s these quirky and often amusing superstitions that add an extra layer of excitement to the football fan experience.
Take a look at a few of these superstition-filled traditions that football fans have been sharing on Reddit.
